The Vision Zero Summit Japan 2022 takes place on a challenging background:

• Every year 2.8 million people lose their lives, mainly due to work related health risks, and 4 % of global GDP is lost due to poor working conditions.
• Globalisation is accelerating and the world of work is changing rapidly as a result of the 4th industrial revolution.
• The disruptive nature of digitalisation dramatically affects the way we work and live and brings about both risks and opportunities for safety, health and well-being at work.
• In addition to emerging health challenges at work, new occupational health risks unexpectedly occurred with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020

Given the magnitude of the disruptions caused and their lasting impact in the world of work, the pandemic requires a comprehensive re-design of traditional prevention models.

The Vision Zero Summit Japan 2022 will take an innovative approach to addressing these and many other important challenges.
